LAW OFFICE OF
LILLIAN M. ZEPEDA
Grounded In Community
and Integrity
Lillian M. Zepeda, Esq. advises individuals, families, entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, and property owners on legal matters involving estate planning, real estate, and organizational governance. Her practice is built on the belief that effective legal counsel should be practical, honest, and tailored to each client's unique goals and circumstances.
Drawing on more than 15 years of leadership across law, higher education, government, and nonprofit organizations, Lillian brings a community-oriented and multidisciplinary perspective to helping clients navigate important legal and business decisions. Throughout her career, she has advised executive leaders, managed complex initiatives, negotiated competing priorities, and helped organizations navigate legal, regulatory, and governance challenges in highly regulated environments.
Prior to establishing her practice, Lillian served as Communications Director to the New York City Council Committee on Finance, where she advised government officials on communications during negotiations of New York City's $82 billion budget and led public affairs efforts supporting legislative initiatives that resulted in the enactment of law. She led the Marketing Department at Queens College of The City University of New York (CUNY), where she advised executive leadership on strategic initiatives, co-chaired planning for the college's annual Dismantling and Combatting Hate Conference, and spearheaded CUNY's first global fashion partnership with the Brooklyn-based luxury streetwear and lifestyle brand KITH. The collaboration expanded the college's visibility across eight countries, generated new institutional revenue, and funded the renovation of a fashion design sewing laboratory.
Lillian currently serves on executive leadership at the Yale School of Nursing, where she advises the dean and senior leaders on strategic communications, institutional priorities, and confidential matters. She also cultivates partnerships among universities, governments, and private-sector organizations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the United States to expand education, research, and philanthropic opportunities.
Her commitment to leadership and service extends beyond her professional roles. As President of the Board of a multimillion-dollar residential cooperative corporation, she oversaw diverse assets, capital improvement projects, contract negotiations, financial stewardship, and compliance. She has also provided legal support through complex immigration proceedings to newly arrived migrant families through New York City's Asylum Application Help Center and has taught courses in Public Speaking and Civil Litigation, helping students develop practical skills while connecting them with educational and professional opportunities.
Lillian is fluent in English and Spanish and is dedicated to providing thoughtful counsel that helps clients build lasting foundations for their families, businesses, and organizations.
